While Watch Dogs: Legion's co-operative missions are limited to teams of four, there's also an eight-player competitive mode at launch. Watch Dogs: Legion online is set after the single-player campaign and comes with a narrative justification: the private police force Albion is hitting back (it's necessary albeit unimaginative) which forces you and your hacktivist outfit DedSec to protect London, once again. Since then, it's also gotten free next-gen ray-tracing-enabled upgrades on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Ubisoft will deliver the multiplayer mode of Watch Dogs: Legion - the London-set third game in the series - in two weeks' time, after what will have been over four months since the game's launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. I think I'll stay with stereo instead of messing around with more reinstalls of the driver or the game.Watch Dogs: Legion online is nearly here. WDL is not Arma nor even Borderlands or another tactical shooter where positional audio is important. No amount of restarting the PC, switching the Realtek Audio Manager back and forth between 2-ch and 5+1, erasing the game settings or verifying the game files will ever make the game work on 5+1 again, only a complete reinstall of the game 40 gigs will fix it again.
So apparently if I launch WDL once in stereo it will not work anymore in 5+1 mode again. What happens in my system is that if I use a headset for music, the drivers turn turn stereo mode, but when I unplug it they don't turn it back to whatever mode it was in before. It started well on 5+1 after the second install tough. I turned the sound system to a 2-channel stereo and all the sounds came back. I am not listening to the sound through a Logitech headset but though 5+1 speakers. Erasing the setting folder did not help, no result from verifying the game files either. After reinstalling the game this morning, the game started having this sound problem again. I checked the surround and I was only getting sound through 2 channels. I use a Logitech G432 7.1 surround headset via the USB connector.
